Our Women's Ministry at Olive has two roles -
1. To support the ladies daytime sewing
2. To provide places for interaction among all women in the church.
Ladies daytime sewing: Currently our daytime sewing meets the 2nd Tuesday from 9 to 3 at the church. An average of 6-9 ladies meet to quilt, knot blankets, and sew layettes. We bring our own lunch to eat at noon after a short business meeting and devotions.
Each year we have been furnishing a quilt for the Relief Sale and some quilted wall hangings for various fund raising auctions, knotted blankets for new babies in congregations or donated to the Depot for MCC.
Women's Activities: This past year the Women's Ministry goal was to plan an activity once each quarter for women. These included a Christmas Cookie Exchange, a jewelry-making evening, the Spring Ladies Celebration Banquet, and a fall trip to Shipshewana.
Our goal is to try and incorporate activities that would include all/more women in the church. We are also an affiliate of In-Mi Mennonite women and Mennonite women USA.
